 As a young boy at play, I always wanted to be the “doctor of the game”. This wish of mine became reality when I was accepted by the medical school at the Aristotelion University of Thessaloniki, Greece.
I chose to become a plastic surgeon early in my training years while observing patients of the burn unit of the hospital and other patients with disformities.
I strongly felt the need to aid in their physical and esthetic recovery.
Today, more than thirty years later, I feel proud of my choice and do not regret the endless study hours, the loneliness of being an ex patriot because of study needs, the long educational trips, even the fact that all these prevented me from starting a family earlier in life.
Plastic surgery is a combination of science and art. My colleagues all over the world, and I try to serve our specialization with ethos and conscience. It gives us great satisfaction to contribute to the self confidence and selfrespect of our patients, who, with the improvement of their appearance become more active and useful to family and society.
